Gemora Chaburah

It's not too late to join the Kehillas Shivtei

Yeshurun gemora chaburah! Chaburah chavrusas meet on Monday night at 20:45 and Friday morning at 08:45 at Ateres Shaul (1 Shvil Hagichon, corner Dolev), covering approximately three amudim per week on Maseches Avoda Zara.

Rabbi Haber gives a b'iyun shiur (halacha and aggada) Wed. nights at 20:45. The shiurim are available in MP3 format on the KSY audio page at www.ksy.org.il/audio.asp.

Looking for a Few Good Men to Join the KSY Vaad

There are many wonderful things happening with the kehilla under Rav Haber, with new energy, shiurim and activities and new members. If you have energy and ideas to help the shul -- join the vaad!! Please contact the rosh kahal, Simon Synett, or any of the vaad members to discuss this opportunity to contribute to KSY. Vaad elections are scheduled to be held before Purim 5769.

Choleh List & KSY Database Online

In order to make the mi shebeirach for cholim a little more efficient, KSY now maintains a list of cholim via the internet. Current Names on the list can be seen at http://www.ksy.org.il/cholim.asp. Please note that names that have not been updated for more than 2 months will not be announced. You can update a name by notifying the KSY Secretary or by logging into your account and editing the older Cholim records.

Did you know? Everyone who is called to the Torah on Shabbos or Yom Tov gets one free mi sheberach. The Gabbai will then offer the Oleh l'Torah an optional 2nd mi sheberach. If one accepts the Gabbai’s offer, the custom in our Kehilla is to obligate oneself to make a modest donation. Please turn to any of the gabboim if you should have a question about this.

KSY Financial Update

Although still relatively small, KSY still has some big ticket expenses that come up from time to time, beyond our normal recurring monthly expenses for rent, salary, supplies, cleaning, etc.. Most recently, there is

• 2600S62; for insurance for both Sifrei Torah
• 2500S62; for accounting services and mandatory government reporting

Please support KSY to help us continue to function and grow.

Building Committee News

In an effort to alleviate the at or over-capacity numbers of attendees over Shabbos and in order that the kehilla should have a single continually usable structure for its daily use, Rabbi Haber, the vaad and building committee have been looking into alternative accommodations for the kehilla for the short term, available ASAP. A number of meetings toward this goal have been held and are currently planned with various building professionals and politicians. If you would like to know more or would like to help in some way speak to Danny Wajnblum, Simon Synett or Doron Green.

Special Tefillos

As per Rav Haber, Tehilim 83 no longer needs to be said.

In the light of the severe lack of rainfall this winter, Rav Haber asks all of us to include the extra tefilla for rain (Va'aneinu Borei Olam) in our amida, in birkas sh'ma koleinu. The nusach for this prayer can be found in most siddurim printed in Israel, usually inside the text of the amida for shacharis, if not other tefillos. May Hashem answer our prayers!
