A New Series of Shiurim by Rav Yaacov Haber
Reflections on the history,
background and message of the Tannaim
As he did with his successful "New Heights in Tefilla" shiurim, Rav Haber will draw upon mussar, chasidus, kabbalah and historical sources to explain both the text and the context of each Mishna, and to reveal their deeper wisdom.

Meet the Members
This week we present long-time members the Nadell family, and the Rosenthal family who joined our kehilla during the past year.
Avraham and Yocheved Nadell moved to Ramat Beit Shemesh almost five years ago in the summer of 2004, after making aliya from Passaic NJ. Avraham was born and raised in the New York/New Jersey area and Yocheved hails from California. They met while in yeshiva, Avraham at Darche Noam Shappell’s and Yocheved at Midreshet Rachel v’Chava and spent their first year and a half of marriage learning in yeshiva. Yocheved is a full time mom, taking care of their four children (bli ayin hara), Rivka 9.5, Adina Malka 6.5, Dovid Sholom 3.5, and Yehuda Noam (aka Hudi) 16 months. The girls are in Magen Avos, Dovid Sholom is in Gan Mazi and Hudi is home with mommy. Avraham is a CPA by trade and currently works as the Head of Movie Finances (known as Production Accountant) at Animation Lab, which is a Jerusalem based computer graphic movie company, vying to be an Israeli version of Pixar. Avraham serves as Treasurer of KSY and a member of the Executive Vaad and they have been members of KSY since shortly after they made aliya.
Hadassah Rosenthal is originally from California, grew up in Reno, Nevada, attended university in Washington. She has a degree in journalism and cultural studies with an emphasis on Jewish Identity. Hadassah was a reporter for ten years and currently is working as freelance editor and teacher of English for Berlitz. Daniel Rosenthal is originally from Texas and grew up in Tampa, Florida. He attended university in Atlanta, Georgia. He has a degree in History and Education. Currently, he works as mortgage loan sales representative and works real estate investors in Israel. They met in Arad, Israel in 2003, married in Passaic, New Jersey in 2004 and have three children; Shimon who will turn 4 in July, Yehoshua who will be 3 in October and Devorah who is 15 months old. The Rosenthals made aliyah part two in May of 2008 after living in New Jersey for four years.
Shabbos Program for Boys Ages 4-7!
We are pleased to announce the continuation of the exciting afternoon program for boys of ages 4-7, organized by Yossi Haber and Mordechai Eliyahu Seltzer.
There will be games, a story, devar Torah and more!! 17:00 until 18:00 at Shivtei Yeshurun, 10A Dolev. Reminder: The boys' group will run at the same time as the Rav's new Pirkei Avos shiur.
KSY Parnosso Project
In light of the fact that a number of KSY members and friends are currently looking for work, Rav Haber is interested in using his network to help the situation. Please assemble your CV, a generic cover letter and a short job description title (e.g., Accountant, Web designer) and send them all to Rav Haber (yhaber@torahlab.org). Rav Haber plans to reach out to his many contacts to see how people can be helped.
Gemora Berachos Shiur
Come learn Gemora Berachos (Rashi, Ikar Tosafos and Rosh) in a shiur given by Magid Shiur Rabbi Yechiel Weisz. The shiur will be covering approximately one amud a day. Place: Ateres Shaul from 08:30 to 09:30, Sunday through Thursday morning. Coffee and milk will be provided. Please bring your own Gemora. Any questions, contact Yechiel Weisz.
Gemora Chaburah
Looking for a new gemora learning seder? The KSY Gemora Chaburah meets Monday and Wednesday evenings and Friday morning, learning maseches Avodah Zara under the guidance and instruction of Rabbi Yaacov Haber. Avodah Zara is a very eclectic and relevant Gemora delving into issues such as: Business and social interactions between Jews and non-Jews, halachos of lifnei iver, tefilla, psak halacha and mesirus nefesh. Rabbi Haber gives an elucidating and uplifting shiur on Wednesday evenings. Learning is b'chavrusa and b'chabura. Choleh List & KSY Database Online
In order to make the mi shebeirach for cholim a little more efficient, KSY now maintains a list of cholim via the internet. Current names on the list can be seen at http://www.ksy.org.il/cholim.asp. Please note that names that have not been updated for more than 2 months will not be announced. You can update a name by notifying the KSY Secretary or by logging into your account and editing the older Cholim records.
