News
Join KSY for the Yomim Noraim!
KSY is happy to announce that we've arranged to daven Rosh HaShanah and Yom Kippur at the newly constructed shul located at 1 Nachal Katlav (the structure closer to KSY).
While there will be sufficient space for all members and many guests, there is still only a fixed number of seats, and we expect a high demand this year.
| Members | Non-Members | |
| Both Rosh Hashonah & Yom Kippur | 120S62; - First Seat 80S62; - Each additional seat |
240S62; |
| Rosh Hashonah only or Yom Kippur only | 80S62; | 160S62; |
Members are defined as those who have either paid or made arrangements for 5770 dues of 140S62; per month. It is important to the Rav and the Vaad that no one refrain from reserving seats due to the financial considerations. Please contact our Treasurer, Avraham Nadell (anadell@nadell.org) to discuss specific cases. Members can purchase additional seats for a spouse or a dependent child living in their home at 80S62;. All others can purchase seats at the non-member rate.
Priority to Members: Seats will be sold only to members and their immediate (dependent) families until Rosh Chodesh Elul. Starting the morning of 21-Aug-09, seats will be sold to both members and non-members. Guarantee your member seat by arranging your membership and reserving your space now.
Please contact Gabbai Shaul Behr to reserve your seats.

Support YOUR Kehilla!
Baruch Hashem, Kehillas Shivtei Yeshurun has experienced tremendous growth and we have significantly increased our programming and activities, from the Rav's weekly Pirkei Avos shiur and Rav Yechiel's daily Brachos gemora chabura to a second shacharis and now a daily maariv. Despite our growth in numbers, membership dues provide less than half of our monthly expenses. We rely heavily on donations from members and friends for the rest of our funding. Please consider the shul in your maaser and tzedakah donations. If you are interested in Israeli or US tax receipts, please contact our treasurer, Avraham Nadell at 054-244-8012. T'zku l'mitzvos!
Get a jump on the new year! The kehilla's fiscal year goes from September to August. That means that most member's dues are paid up only thru the end of next month. In the spirit of "zerizim makdimin l'mitzvos", please consider paying your some or all of next year's dues already. Anything paid up by the end of July (or August) would be a big help."

Nedavos & Other Donations to KSY
KSY would like to thank the following people for their donations during the past week:
- $200 - Chaim and Dina Stepleman
Please consider allowing us to announce your name when thanking you for your donation. Public donations tend to encourage others to follow your lead when they see the efforts of others.
- Donation from Israel: Please contact Avraham Nadell, KSY Treasurer, for information on Israel tax receipts.
- Donation from USA: American Friends of Kehillas Shivtei Yeshurun can accept your donation on behalf of the kehilla. See www.afoksy.com/donate for complete details.
Did you know? Everyone who is called to the Torah on Shabbos or Yom Tov gets one free mi sheberach. The Gabbai will then offer the Oleh l'Torah an optional 2nd mi sheberach. If one accepts the Gabbai’s offer, the custom in our Kehilla is to obligate oneself to make a modest donation. Please turn to any of the gabboim if you should have a question about this.
Choleh List & KSY Database Online
In order to make the mi shebeirach for cholim a little more efficient, KSY now maintains a list of cholim via the internet. Current names on the list can be seen at http://www.ksy.org.il/cholim.asp. Please note that names that have not been updated for more than 2 months will not be announced. You can update a name by notifying the KSY Secretary or by logging into your account and editing the older Cholim records.
Rav Haber Online
Can't get enough of the Rav's Torah? Listening to his MP3 shiurim is almost as good as being there. The Rav has given a number of thought provoking shiurim as part of his Tefilla Series and the Mesechta Avoda Zora chaburah that are available at www.ksy.org.il/audio.asp. Topics include: "What is bracha", "Krias Shema - Oneness with Hashem", "Giving Thanks", "When is my tefilla accepted", "The Goal of Olam haZeh", "Using the forces of Heaven" and many more.
KSY Parnosso Project
In light of the fact that a number of KSY members and friends are currently looking for work, Rav Haber is interested in using his network to help the situation. Please assemble your CV, a generic cover letter and a short job description title (e.g., Accountant, Web designer) and send them all to Rav Haber (yhaber@torahlab.org). Rav Haber plans to reach out to his many contacts to see how people can be helped.
Contacting Rav Haber
Rav Haber is available for shealos, eitzah, etc. on a daily basis from 13:00-16:00 or whenever urgent matters come up, at 052-539-5216. The Rav can be reached by email at yhaber@torahlab.org, but please allow at least 48 hours for a thoughtful response. If the issue requires discussion, the Rav would prefer to speak in person rather than both email and phone. Please feel free to contact the Rav via email or phone to setup an appointment for a meeting.
